Baseball used to be America’s sport. It was a huge part of American culture—but that time has passed. The MLB was looking to find a new audience without loosing the superfans and the die-hards. The “Baseball is Something Else” campaign was all about celebrating the unexpected part of baseball. The wierd rituals, the little secrets, the glory of a beer in the ballpark, the baseball culture that is always thriving. Let ESPN talk about the stats.

It’s 60ft. and 6 inches from HERE to home plate and since a 100 mph fastball gets there in .375 seconds you have to decide to swing RIGHT NOW even though this ball has 45 more feet to go and it’s spinning like a fastball which means by HERE your brain has decided where to put your hands, but of course, there’s 15 more feet to go and AT THIS POINT the ball is moving faster than your brain so you’re essentially blind which is not good because this is actually a 82mph curve with 21 inches of vertical drop so your hands are up there and the ball is down here. And that is what we call a strike.
